Extended care may be used on an as-needed basis. Parents are charged only for the time used. Space is limited to 20 students per day. Extended care is available to students, as space allows, all five days, regardless of the number of days they attend school. Extended care is only available those weeks that school is in session. Children bring their own lunches. A mid-afternoon snack is provided after rest period.
The morning group is housed in the small room off Nursery I. Lunch Bunch is housed downstairs in the Orange Room. Pick up of children from the afternoon extended care program is downstairs.
Please be sure to sign in your child every morning. The children's coats and bags are placed in the hallway along the wall until they go to their individual classrooms. The lunches are placed along the hallway wall and then are placed in the refrigerator by a staff person at 9:15 a.m.

Children who stay longer than four hours are required, by the Department of Early Education and Care (EEC), to have a rest period. The rest period occurs in early afternoon. The children rest on individual covered mats, and parents are expected to send in a blanket. These blankets are to be laundered by the parent, weekly. Mat covers are laundered by Harborlight. The mat of a sick child will be sanitized and air dried. The children may also bring any soft, snuggly bed time companion if this is a comfort to the child. The rest time will be implemented with regard to the child's individual needs, and no child will be expected to rest for an inappropriate amount of time. Alternative quiet activities will be available for children who finish resting while waiting for others to wake.
11:50 - 12:10 Children staying for lunch are brought by their teacher to the bathroom downstairs. The children wash their hands before going to lunch.
12:10 - 12:45 The children sit at the tables. The lunch boxes are opened only after all the children are seated. The children take out all their lunch items, place them on their placemats and put their lunch boxes under their chairs. After eating the children wash their hands and brush their teeth before going to play.
12:45 - 1:20 Quiet activities - clean up - story
1:20 - 1:30 Bathroom - wash hands
1:30 - 2:15 Rest
2:15 - 2:45 Outside - large motor games
2:45 - 2:55 Bathroom - wash hands
2:55 - 3:10 Snack - Milk is the beverage and water is always offered. Snack will be fruit, vegetables, crackers or cookies
